Kia GT Sedan Silhouette
Aston Martin Rapide profile (Kia GT design benchmark that they’ll never say is the design, acceleration, and handling benchmark).
Honestly there’s nothing to discuss that we didn’t already know. But this is a badass video for a silhouette! Plus its the first time the Kia badge came across as cool. Maybe they don’t need a new badge, they just need a new image. I’m addicted.

This has me imagining some weird reality where Kia is a go-to brand for enthusiasts like Ford or Subaru or BMW.

Kia is shaping up to what Pontiac should have been.
Recycle Cadillac’s table scraps (in this case, the Genesis platform) into a lower-end fun to drive car.
But of course GM being GM, they won’t see it and will continue to push more underwhelming crossovers.

Is this thing for sure coming to the US? Will it be RWD?

I love that it has the stainless trim from the whole roof and down the rear pillar like the Optima it’s Kias only real unique design, and it’s a good game one.

For sure US, definitely RWD, and definitely with an engine over 350 hp as well as a second engine closer to 300 hp to lower the price point.

Check out the tiger-nose roof line on a few Kias (including this GT). My favorite design cue since its subtle.

Now for the trifecta - any chance of a manual???

I don’t know! Usually a “no” is easy, and that’s my answer for the first model year. Later in the product lifecycle however is looking more and more likely for the US.

Wow. Kia/Hyundai/Genesis are really doing a lot to try and earn my business. If this and the new small Genesis sedan look as good as I hope they will I could very well buy one. I’ll be excited to see the release of the GT.

AWD?

That is weird.

Frankly, best of luck to them. If someone will sell me a dynamically engaging RWD manual sedan at a reasonable price I couldn’t care less what the badge says

No clue for the US. They are most likely leaving this one RWD only and having the future Genesis G70 (which will be out a few months after this Kia) as the AWD option.

Makes perfect sense but I suspect they will limit their already limited market if they don’t bring it at reveal or within a year.
